All editions of EntraPass now support installation on Windows Server 2016 Datacenter. For more information, see Minimum System Requirements.
24-bit to 32-bit Card Format Migration/Automatic Conversion
A new card number series for the ioProx card had us thinking how customers will migrate from 24-bit (HH:DDDDD) to 32-bit (HHHH:DDDDD) while avoiding duplication. The solution is when you now switch from 24-bit to 32-bit format using the display format menu; the system will prompt you to enter the correct family code. If you have the Auto-Conversion turned ON and present an unknown card, the system will validate the existing card numbers and automatically convert the presented card to the extended card family code. The system will modify the card number and grant access to the presented card. The feature can be turned OFF, when all cards have been read at least once. For more information, see Changing from a 24-bit to 32-bit Global Card Format.
KT-Standalone Import Tool
A few months ago, Kantech released new firmware for the KT-1 and KT-400. If you installed the firmware, you can now decide to use the controller to connect to EntraPass, or to use the controller in standalone mode without EntraPass. In standalone mode, you use the built-in web page to program the unit.
The day where multi-connection of controller or higher-end features will be required, it is now possible to import configuration of the standalone unit into new connections in EntraPass. It is available in all EntraPass editions, with some limitations within the Special Edition; please refer to the import KT-standalone for more details. For more information, see Migrating KT-Standalone Back-up Data to an EntraPass Server.
exacq DVR Connectivity Scalability
The VideoVault application can now be used as a VideoGateway where up to 2048 DVR connections can be configured. This allows us to use the outbound connection from exacq where the DVR is the device connecting to EntraPass and not the opposite. This makes programming the units easier as each of them will be added to the enrollment list.
We also use two IP addresses for the exacq DVR connectivity, when available, we store the local (LAN) and public (WAN) IP addresses and send them to EntraPass Web and EntraPass go to try both, this means when viewing live video, you can be inside or outside your facility and still get the same feature set. For more information see Configuring the EntraPass Video Vault Application, Programming the exacq DVR, Video Gateway Enrollment ,and Configuring the security level in EntraPass to allow access to configure exacq DVR.The VideoVault GUI was adapted to look like the Gateway/Smartlink latest interface, adding the extra DVR status options.
